Home again, home again...
Well, this weekend was a bit hectic... Mike's dad Dale rode the bus in from Quartzsite, and then we drove him up to Redding for his BIL Jesse's memorial service. It was quite a lot of driving. The memorial was bittersweet, in that way they always are. Good memories, sadness at the loss.
It was quite amusing to see the three remaining siblings, sitting around the kitchen table at Evelyn's house, because they are all quite talkative. Oh, the arguments... who won? Well, since they all turned off their hearing aids, they all won!
The kids are all in their 40s and 50s now. They joked about still sitting at the kids' table, but it's the GOOD table now.
We took the puppies, and they were so good. Just like always. I want to show this picture from last summer...
All together now.... awwwwww!
You see, there was a need for a potty stop, and it was late evening before the 4th of July. No one was around, and we didn't see the NO DOGS sign. Honest!! I'm just blown away by how gentle Rex is - no barking at all. It's not a fluke - I have another picture at Denise's farm, with Rex nose to nose with a sheep. And a few of the cats chasing him away from his food dish...
The point is, I love my Pyrs!

Ruth! You can use cow's milk from the grocery store, you silly. Go forth and maketh the feta.
(ed. note: this is after posting on Marie's blog at http://marie-funnyfarm.blogspot.com/ ) ... she has the *best* cheese because she uses her own milk!!
Besides, Marie - I thought your feta was from goat's milk?
